Whale sharks are the largest fish in the world, covered with unique white spots. They mainly feed on plankton and often swim slowly near the surface. At Libertad in Antique, you can take a boat to the areas where whale sharks are active. While respecting marine life and following safety rules, you can observe their graceful movements up close and enjoy a rare and breathtaking ocean experience.

Two options, choose freely according to your itinerary

Depending on your accommodation, transportation arrangements, and travel time, you can choose to go on your own, book transfers and tickets in advance, start from Boracay, or opt for full VIP service including personal guidance from the instructor and a VIP car on the main island.

Safety Instructions and On-Site Guidance

Before the activity starts, on-site staff will give a safety briefing and explain the activity rules, as well as provide life jackets, snorkeling masks, and snorkels. The activity is guided by on-site staff and crew, with boarding, viewing, and water activities arranged according to the weather, sea conditions, number of participants, and safety considerations for the day.

Participants must follow all on-site instructions, and cannot leave the group or approach the whale sharks on their own. Whether you can go into the water and the actual arrangements for entering the water will be determined by the activity organizers on the day.

Respectful Whale Shark Encounters

When watching whale sharks, please keep a safe distance. Do not touch, chase, ride, feed, or block their swimming path. Also, avoid using flash or strong lights while taking photos, so as not to disturb marine life.

● When participating in the activity, you must show your purchase proof, electronic vouchers are also acceptable.

● The voucher is only valid for the date, plan, meeting point, and time specified at the time of booking.

● When booking, please provide a valid contact method, hotel accommodation, number of participants, and children's ages to help confirm transfers and activity arrangements.

● The actual meeting time, meeting point, transfer vehicle, and contact information will be based on the electronic voucher or pre-activity notification.

● If you choose Boracay transfer services through us, please arrive at the meeting point at the specified time. Being late may affect subsequent transfers and activity plans.

● If going on your own, please arrive at the designated check-in point according to your activity voucher or on-site instructions.

● You must attend a safety briefing before the activity and follow the instructions of on-site staff, crew, and local authorities.

● During the activity, you must wear a life jacket and use snorkeling gear provided or approved by the activity organizers.

● Activity schedules, boat trips, water entry, and actual activity times may be adjusted due to traffic, weather, sea conditions, crowd size, or safety concerns.

● There are basic shower and changing facilities on-site, but no hot water; it’s recommended to bring your own towel and change of clothes.

● Whale sharks are wild animals, and their appearance cannot be guaranteed.

Activity Time: Estimated one-way drive on the main island is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Actual time depends on check-in crowd, boat schedules, sea conditions, and on-site arrangements. Around 20 minutes in the water at the whale shark spot. (Total trip about 5 hours)

Option 2 | Full VIP Exclusive Service with Coach-Led Experience + Main Island VIP Private Car  

Activity Time: Estimated one-way drive on the main island about 1 hour. Actual time depends on check-in crowd, boat schedules, sea conditions, and on-site arrangements. Around 35–40 minutes in the water at the whale shark spot. (Total trip about 4 hours)

● After receiving your order, we will check availability with the activity provider and provide the booking and cost details.

● Once payment is completed, an electronic voucher and related gathering information will be provided.

● The actual meeting time, location, pick-up method, and contact information should be based on the activity voucher or pre-activity notice.

● On the day of the activity, please bring the electronic voucher and arrive at the meeting point at the designated time.

● The activity schedule and time may be affected by traffic, weather, sea conditions, whale shark activity, and on-site safety arrangements, so please allow plenty of time.

● This activity offers two different plans. The actual inclusions, pick-up locations, and activity times will depend on the plan selected at the time of booking.

● Recommended for participants aged 7 and above. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Actual age restrictions and suitability depend on the activity provider's assessment of the child's condition, the sea conditions on the day, and safety regulations.

● Non-swimmers can go to the activity area by boat and choose to stay on board to watch; going into the water is not mandatory.

● If non-swimmers still wish to enter the water, they must wear a life jacket at all times and assess their own health, swimming ability, and psychological readiness for open water in advance.

● If you cannot swim, get nervous easily, feel unwell, or are unsure about open water, it’s recommended to stay on the boat and watch. Do not force yourself into the water.

● Whether you can go into the water will still be determined by on-site staff based on sea conditions, weather, participant status, and safety considerations. The activity provider reserves the right to refuse going into the water for safety reasons.

● The activity is guided by on-site staff and crew, and boarding, viewing, and water entry are arranged according to safety regulations. There is no guarantee of one-on-one supervision in the water.

● Estimated in-water viewing time is around 15-20 minutes for Plan 1 (35-40 minutes for Plan 2), but this is not guaranteed. Actual time may be shortened, extended, or canceled depending on sea conditions, weather, whale shark activity, crowd levels, safety assessments, and announcements from the boat company.

● Whale sharks are wild animals; their presence, distance, number, and duration of stay cannot be guaranteed.

● Please keep a safe distance according to on-site rules. As per official notices, maintain at least 5 meters from the whale shark's head and at least 6 meters from its sides and tail. Always follow the instructions of the on-site staff.

● Do not touch, ride, chase, feed, block, or disturb the whale sharks.

● Flash or strong light photography is prohibited. Do not throw objects, trash, or food into the sea.

● Avoid loud noises, splashing, or chasing marine life.

● To protect the marine ecosystem, avoid using regular sunscreen, lotions, or chemicals that might harm the environment, as per on-site regulations.

● A life jacket must be worn during the activity, and snorkeling mask and snorkel should be used as required by the activity provider.

● Simple shower and changing facilities are available on-site, but no hot water is provided. Bring your own towel, swimwear, and change of clothes.

● Meeting points, transport, boats, and activity flow may be adjusted due to traffic, weather, sea conditions, or operational factors.

● If weather or sea conditions are poor, the activity may be delayed, shortened, rescheduled, or canceled.

● Please keep your personal belongings and valuables safe. Cafes, souvenir shops, lockers, etc., are not guaranteed facilities.

● Participants must follow on-site staff, crew, and local authority regulations. If safety or ecological protection rules are violated, the provider may stop your activity and may not provide a refund.

● Any cancellations, rescheduling, or refunds after confirming this activity will follow the official terms of the activity provider and the confirmation details provided at the time of booking.

● Whale sharks are wild animals, so their appearance cannot be guaranteed.

● If the activity provider cancels the trip, rescheduling or refunds will be handled according to their announcement.

● If you’ve already arrived, started the trip, or the activity has begun, whether you can reschedule or get a refund due to personal reasons, refusing to enter the water, or being unable to complete the activity, will be determined by the activity provider.

● If itinerary adjustments, delays, or cancellations occur due to weather, sea conditions, traffic, safety, or other unavoidable factors, they will follow the provider’s daily announcements and actual handling.
